Ilya’s career in commercial real estate began in 2006 at the Calgary office of one of the largest brokerages in the world. He initially specialized in the sale and leasing of downtown and suburban office space. With a desire to expand his practice, Ilya eventually moved on to become an Associate Broker with the largest independent industrial real estate brokerage in Calgary. When an opportunity arose for Ilya to join one the fastest growing commercial real estate brands in the world, he accepted the invitation and joined RE/MAX Commercial, where he currently serves as the Team Lead of his commercial real estate brokerage group. His performance and leadership have earned him several awards of merit such as the RE/MAX Platinum Club Award, and he has been inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame.

Ilya is an Accredited Commercial Professional, a Computer Science graduate, and fluent in English and French. In recognition of his achievements in the commercial real estate industry, Ilya was handpicked in 2010 by a former Executive Director of the Real Estate Council of Alberta to join their 20/20 Forum as an advisor to the council, which he assisted in this capacity for several years. Ilya has also been called upon by the Calgary Real Estate Board to speak on commercial real estate matters as an expert panelist.

Ilya’s former career has included senior management roles with two technology firms and a marketing consultancy, and he has previously served as a Combat Engineer with the former 3rd Field Engineer Regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves. As a member of Shriners International, Ilya continues to support their network of children’s hospitals across North America. He is also a prominent donor to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
